At Shilasdair we have always brought you the very best in quality and design but, until now we have not carried many designs for children
In an exciting new development for 2010 we have enlisted the services of a new and innovative designer in Joolies Woolies. Julie is based in the Capital of the Highlands and practices the craft of traditional aran knitting passed down to her through generations of knitters. She also has 20 years of experience in dressing her own children (youngest now 1) so knows very well what is both practical, functional and fashionable.
She has put together a collection of garments ranging from the traditional old favourites through to some more contemporary designs all created in Shilasdairs pure and naturally dyed yarns.

Lorna Decamps
Originally from Derby, Lorna graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) in Knitwear Design. Her final year degree collection was shown at London Graduate Fashion Week and she subsequently featured in i-D magazine as one of "Britain's brightest young talents". Lorna now works as a hand knitter and pattern writer for a Designer Cashmere company alongside designing her own childrenswear. Several of her patterns have featured in Yarn Forward magazine. Lorna lives just outside Glasgow with husband Brian and young daughter Erin May.
